Did you know it rains a lot in Portland?

Yes, you probably did. But what I was TOLD before moving out here is that it doesn't really rain as much as everyone says. Sure, it might rain for 30 days in a row (or 60...or more) but the actual amount of rainfall is less when compared with a city such as New York. At least this is what Kyle told me. "Oh, no, it's fine! Really. Everyone exaggerates the amount of rain. You won't even need an umbrella. Only east coasters use umbrellas. It just mists...sometimes it drizzles. It doesn't rain hard in the Pacific Northwest."

It has poured during the past three days.

me: its pouring again
why did you lie to me. did you lie to me to get me out here
Kyle: yes
me: the rain is actually hammering down sideways
me: ohhh i see a patch of blue sky
