Me and Mac, "back when":
Anyways, they arrive on Thursday and we feel particularly honored with the timing of this visit, because Halloween happens to be Mac's most favorite holiday, and here he is, flying all the way "out West" to spend it with lil' old us...oh and his sister Maggie who also happens to live here! Maggie is an incredibly talented artist who works with fibers and string and she was just honored with this really amazing award as part of the Portland Open Studios weekends. Check out her stuff here - it's stunning, and her website is beautiful as well!
Mac doesn't have just one talented lady in his life, though. Oh, no - he is one lucky guy. His girlfriend, Liz, happens to be an amazing singer and songwriter (with an album), and published novelist. Yep. Did I mention she's 25? Hm. Ok then.
I love Liz's music. You can check it out here. I also love Liz's book, the Words of Every Song. I also love Liz! She's the best!
Here's Liz (on the left) with my cousins Max (in the middle, but you prob figured that out) and Krissy, when we all went on a Long Island vineyard tour last year for Kyle's birthday:
We can't wait for you guys to get here - we're waiting for you ... unfortunately the sun isn't!! Bring your raincoats (and boots, and umbrellas...you're East coasters, it's ok, you can have umbrellas).

I think the "back east" thing is historical...like, back across the Oregon Trail...
Oy. You can say it, since you actually come from the east coast. Other people should just stop.
Love,
Maggie
It! was! so! fun!
