Our Second Visitors are Coming!

Woohoo! And just in time for Halloween! Mac and Liz, our two favorite Brooklynites, are arriving this Thursday evening for a weekend of fun in P-town. Mac is a coworker of mine from "back East" in New York. It's funny, I'm learning that this is the phrase used universally when referring to the East coast..."back East"....which I thought would only be used by people who once lived there, as in "back home". But no, East is "back East" - is this because we read left to right and when you look at the country head on, the West is on the left and the East is on the right so you feel as though it is behind you? Am I reading too much into this?

Anyways, they arrive on Thursday and we feel particularly honored with the timing of this visit, because Halloween happens to be Mac's most favorite holiday, and here he is, flying all the way "out West" to spend it with lil' old us...oh and his sister Maggie who also happens to live here! Maggie is an incredibly talented artist who works with fibers and string and she was just honored with this really amazing award as part of the Portland Open Studios weekends. Mac doesn't have just one talented lady in his life, though. Oh, no - he is one lucky guy. His girlfriend, Liz, happens to be an amazing singer and songwriter (with an album), and published novelist. Yep. Did I mention she's 25? Hm. Ok then.
