Colgate in Portland

I joined the Colgate Club of Portland for dinner at Typhoon last night - a great chance to meet some alums who at least have one thing in common with me: 4 winters in Hamilton, NY (need I say more?) We dined on November 13th because Colgate's "lucky number" is 13 - as the saying goes, the University was founded by 13 men in 1817, and is also located at 13 Oak Drive. At some point during the time we were students there, all Friday the 13th's were declared official "Colgate days". On the most recent one, in June, Colgate rang the bell at the NYSE. I guess if you go (or are planning to go) to Colgate, you best not suffer from triskaidekaphobia.

The most recent "Colgate Day" ALSO happened to be the day Kyle and I moved out of our apartment in NYC. Alex, who kindly helped us pack up the rest of our belongings, took this picture of me in the cab as we drove away from the apartment towards Grand Central to take the train home to CT (to spend the weekend with Mom and Dad before flying to Portland). I think I look a little bit relieved and a whole lot tired.
