Organic Food Comes in Cardboard Boxes

Kyle signed us up for a new service, Organics to You, and we received our first shipment yesterday! I arrived home, laiden with work files, laptop, and pile of mail, to find this lovely box right outside our door. I excitedly brought it inside, dropped my stuff, and cut open the box:

Lettuce. Tomatoes. Green beans. Grapes. Peppers. Cabbage. LITERALLY PILED in a cardboard box. Amazing!

The slug that Kyle found hanging on for dear life to one of the string beans: proof of authentic organic food, or just plain gross? I guess it depends on who you ask...

Speaking of food (not slugs) check out my friend Maggie's new blog, Pithy and Cleaver, which is a wonderful account of two gals living in NYC and cooking amazing treats-salty, sweet, and otherwise-in tiny kitchens. I met Maggie while working as a publicity assistant at FSG, and, besides being a very talented designer for St. Martin's Press (I'm going to assume she designed the masthead for her blog) she's also an incredibly talented cook AND writer. Enjoy!
